Since Linkin Park's latest record "The Hunting Party" was released in 2014, the band has kept busy with tours, interviews and working on their newest album at their studio in Los Angeles, California. Their sound has vastly changed over the years since the release of "Meteora" which has had a complication with fans while others welcome whatever music they produce. Based on a video released by one of the band's lead singers, Chester Bennington, the band has once again taken new risks to create their album. In the video, Bennington expresses his excitement and approval of the successful progress of the album. "I'm really proud of what we’ve accomplished in the studio so far.” he says, "I’m really looking forward to you guys hearing the stuff. It’s, like, super, super exciting".
There hasn't been an official announcement on a specific genre, nor a release date, but a month ago LP's lead guitarist, Brad Delson, stated in a studio update on Soundcloud that there has been plenty of "trial and error" with changing the entire process of how they make a record including how they approach songwriting. Delson explained this change with "As much as we know how to approach songwriting, everybody does it differently. So being able to, like, sit with someone and kind of pour ourselves into their process has been really exciting."
While the changes have been a challenge for Linkin Park, it seems that they have found a way to make it work to their advantage through experimentation while producing the new sound they were looking for. Bennington hopes that the album will challenge and inspire their fans. It's hard to tell at this point just how different their music will be in comparison to their previous albums. So fans can only hope for the best and trust in the band's talents.
