If the name Lin-Manuel Miranda doesn't sound familiar maybe the musical "Hamilton" will. Miranda wrote the story of Hamilton as best described by the video of Lin at the White House performing the rough draft of the opener to the Obamas. From there Lin's popularity took off as he continued to thrive and create more amazing projects.
Lin did so many projects before reaching his fame and that includes the show "In The Heights." He wrote and composed the performance however it did not really reach as nearly as much fame as "Hamilton."
To me though what makes Lin such an amazing person is that he seems so relatable. He tweets these amazing cute posts that encourage people about their life. Sometimes after having a bad day, it's amazing to see him tweeting these relatable posts about life.
To top it off he's recently branched into Disney. Anyone like "Moana?" Lin wrote the soundtrack for it and you can even hear his voice in "We Know The Way." Now to top it all off he's starring in the new "Mary Poppins Returns" movie that is coming out on December 19th, 2018. Lin will be the chimney sweep that everyone loves.
I mean come on who doesn't love Disney? This guy has created so many favorites that it's hard to pinpoint just one thing to love about him. However, there's more.
Lin is also an amazing activist for those causes he feels strongly about. One of those causes was for the victims of the Pulse shooting that occurred in Orlando. Lin teamed up with Jennifer Lopez to create the song "Love Make The World Go Round." 100% of the proceeds from the purchase of the song on iTunes went to benefit the victims of the shooting.
His charity doesn't stop there. Lin also became an activist for Puerto Rico recovery from Hurricane Maria. This included helping to fundraise by raffling off merchandise through his social media. He also did what he does best and with the help of other artists created the song "Almost Like Praying". The song profits went to benefit The Hispanic Federation's Unidos Disaster Relief Fund.
With a person as amazing as Lin who is constantly outperforming himself, and doing the acts of good that he does it's hard not to love him. This is why Lin Manuel Miranda will always be my favorite celebrity. Literally one of my goals as a journalism major is to interview Lin.
