A trial doesn't have to be big to bring you to your knees.

Why do we feel so stressed and alone sometimes when we go through trials? I'm pretty sure you're acquainted with this feeling. As I am.

There are times when we feel so frustrated or anxious because things are getting hard. We don't know what God is up to and as much as Christians are big on trusting God when it comes to trials, we often fail. I mean we're not perfect.

These past few weeks have mostly been trials with stress, frustration and fear for me. Fear because I witnessed something traumatizing I never wanted to witness or hear. There are a lot of people that can understand the trials some of us go through, but not as much as a man I respect and know as Job. Maybe my trial wasn't huge like Job's, but I believe a trial doesn't have to be big to bring you to your knees.

Here is the million-dollar question I have for you (no I'm not rich it's just a question):

If you could turn back time, would you ask God to make your trial easy? If he did, then what was the purpose of that trial?

Hmm... are your wheels turning? Did I stump you? Great!

I know this might sound weird, but I ask for trials--because I know that it will teach me and bring me closer to God.

Wait... What?

Some of you might think I had those trials coming to me because asked.

But if I didn't open my mouth and ask, how would I learn to have peace through the storm?

Ahh, you didn't think about that, did you?

Trials are not in our lives to hurt us, but the contrary, they make us stronger. Oh, also before I forget I would like to mention that trials are also a reminder of how we can't be in control of our lives because we'll wreck it, just how your parents (if you're a teen) won't buy you a new car because they know it will be wrecked.

Our lives are like a board game in which you are always confronted with two pathways. But what you don't probably haven't thought about is how each pathway has its own pack of trials. We can't outrun them just like you can't outrun [insert whatever thing you can't outrun].

A verse I think fits this topic is Philippians 4:13

" I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me."

Through him is the only way we will get through trials.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
