I'm Here To Tell You What Life Is Like As A Weeb Because, Well, I Am One

We all, at one point in our lives, have seen one. Wanna know what it's like?

I'm Here To Tell You What Life Is Like As A Weeb Because, Well, I Am One

In This Article:

You either live long enough to see one or become one. Yes, I am a weeb. For those who don't know the proper definition, a weeb is a person who is heavily interested in anime and Japanese culture and includes Japanese words and phrases in their everyday speech while spending large amounts of money on anime and manga products.

It's not as bad as you think. Yeah, you might be considered a social outcast, weird, anti-social, and have a harem of gorgeous waifus, which I see as a win, but you still have anime right beside you. I'm just glad I don't give off that vibe to people. If I'm gonna give off a weird vibe to someone, I'd rather have it be for something else than for just being a weeb.

Now at some point in your life, you've probably wondered, "Man. What's it like to be that obsessed with anime and Japanese culture?" Hopefully, this either changes or affirms your opinion on weebs, but please do keep on thing in mind: Whether you hate us or love us, 2D will never break our hearts.

That's a joke. You can laugh now.

1. Anime Anime Anime

You ever just have a list of shows that you have in your watch later list? You ever just keep adding more shows to that said list, and your backlog just keeps growing and growing? You do? Good. Now take those shows and replace them with anime. I can't get enough of it. It's literally the main thing I watch. Yeah I watch other shows, but anime will always be number one in my eyes. There's just something about it that just entices me and makes me wanna watch more and more of it. It's almost like how everyone's attached to new episodes of "The Bachelor."

2. Meet The Waifus and Husbandos

Everybody has done this in their lives. When you're watching a show or a movie, you say that an actress and actor is cute/hot, and you say how you wanna marry them. Well, replace them with anime characters and real people. If they're male they're called husbandos, and if they're female they're called waifus. You might be wondering if I have any waifus. Yes, yes I do. Ibuki Mioda from "Danganronpa" is #1 best girl. Does that make me a loser? Maybe, but then again, other people fantasize about themselves with other celebrities they have zero chance of getting with, so I say we're even.

3. Anime Art & Drawings

Maybe this part is just me, but I can't get enough of anime art and drawing. I follow about like 50 accounts on Twitter dedicated to reposting art, and it's just so aesthetically pleasing. I'm honestly kinda envious that I can't draw like that, not that I can draw like that at all, so following a ton of accounts kinda eases that pain a little bit.

4. Wanna See My Playlist?

My whole playlist on Apple Music is mixed with real music and music from anime soundtracks or from Japanese groups. If someone saw it, it would instantly shock them because they don't get that nerdy weeb vibe from me. Want some suggestions? Snow Halation and Miku. Check them out if you're interested.

These are the main generalizations about how weebish I am. Like I said, when people see me, it's honestly not that bad. It's not that I'm treated differently or anything. It's almost like a shot. It's quick and painless, like a quick shot. So I hope this gave you some idea of what it's like to be a weeb. Just promise me the next time you see one, don't be a dick. Thanks, senpai.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
