Like a Cloud

An original poem written with dreams in mind. Open your perspective to reach your goals!

Hey readers! I wrote this piece to motivate looking at even the smallest things for some motivation for personal goals. Sometimes, we all get caught up in looking at detailed plans over taking a risk. I am not saying don't plan (I feel best when goals are planned!), but don't forget to give yourself the opportunity to take a different approach with things. You never know what more inspiration can be uncovered. As always, go live out your dreams! Much love.

I saw a cloud in the sky,

And I wondered, 'how freely they slide'

The expanse of this one was noticeably large

As it smoothly glided across the earth's dome

That cloud moved so effortlessly on it's own

Without worry someone wouldn't leave it alone

I so badly wished to be as lazily unrestricted

As that cloud, seeing all there was to see

Those days, I felt like the things I wanted

Fell out of my grasp, being left and forgotten

The places I wanted to see and go to

Where all but ignored and undefined

Again and again, I tried to find new perspectives

Hoping, one day, I could get the impression

That, like a cloud, I could see all there was

And be all that I sought to

'How much does a cloud see in a day?'

I questioned out loud

Yet, a thought occurred to me on how:

I can regain those dreams again

If I truly believe I can achieve it

Though a cloud's journey is different

I began to see that there was no limit

To how much I needed to have faith in myself

And where I wanted to go

For I can do anything

If my mind is as opened

As the sky above me

My dreams can transform into anything

As the clouds drifting along in the breeze

All it takes it a little push within me

Who knows what can be propelled just by that

However, not giving myself the chance

Keeps me restricted and closed in

I knew that if I thought of that cloud

I, too, could accomplish any possibility

That cloud inspired the fearlessness

Blooming inside of me

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
