"Life is like a camera. Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives." I just love this quote, it really makes me think about life. It's so easy to get distracted sometimes by an overwhelming amount of background noise, and lose focus on the task at hand.

1. Focus

You get to decide how to spend your time, who to spend it with, and what you're willing forego when time runs short. Focus on what's important. You get what you focus on, so focus on what you want. Break everything down into simpler, more manageable steps. First it will feel like a sacrifice. Then it will feel like the grind. Then it will feel like life. Then it will feel like freedom.

2. Capture

Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something. A rich and satisfying life means one full of contrast. Capture all your plans and goals. Create a life that feels good on the inside, not one that just looks good in photos.

I am determined to embrace this extravagant life for all it has to offer. Appreciate every little thing. Be so grateful for the little things. It takes a bunch of small wins to create the big ones.

3. Develop

In life let there be a method to your madness. Be strategic. Play chess with it. Don't let your impatience get in the way of your planning. Sometimes a little tweak in your perspective will lead to a much greater outcome. Give your life meaning everyday by pushing yourself closer to your dreams.

Own the place, own the process, own your time, and own the direction of your future. And if things don't turn out, take another shot.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
