Each year goes by and we reflect on how much has changed in the past 365 days. Good change? Bad change? No change? It's 2019. It's time for some positive change. This year, become the best version of yourself. Learn more about you, treat yourself well, and live like it's your last day! I've got 5 lifestyle changes to aid your glo up this year.

1. Make it a habit to journal, meditate, or participate in some form of healthy release.

Journaling has been my secret ingredient to keeping sane for the past three years. Write about what's on your mind, creative ideas you have, things you're grateful for, successes, failures, and things that make you happy. Writing helps clear your head. If you're mad, sad, frustrated, or confused, write it out! You will learn a lot about yourself and you're helping solve the situation that is upsetting you. Keeping a journal won't only help you remain sane in 2019, but will help you learn about yourself and keep track of your progress this year.

If journaling isn't your thing, look into meditation! Pretty much, just find a way to release. However, make sure it is a healthy form of release. Journaling and meditation help to rejuvenate and refresh your mind. Don't drink your feelz away. We're taking strides to be emotionally healthy this year!

2. Take better care of your physical health this year... flossing, vitamins, water!

In 2019, we're going to LISTEN to our body. Dry skin? Let's fix that. Weak immune system? Let's work on that. All you need to do is make it a habit, and once you consistently stick with that healthy lifestyle, you won't be able to live without it. Just add it to your routine. Drink a big glass of water in the morning. Floss right before bed. Take your vitamins right before lunch. Simple additions make the biggest difference! You will feel healthier and more confident.

You don't have to be a health guru to live a healthy lifestyle. Veganism is not a requirement for being healthy. I definitely still eat pizza and fries and drink milkshakes. It's all about moderation. Enjoy food! Enjoy life! But always listen to your body.

3. Stay. Off. The. Phone. PERIOD!

You are doing more harm than good. Phones waste your precious minutes and at the end of the day, occupy a large portion of our time. According to eMarketer, the average US adult spent 3 hours and 35 minutes per day on their mobile device. Imagine spending that amount of time each day reading, learning a new hobby, or spending time with loved ones. Your knowledge, skill level, and relationships would prosper! Reconsider picking up your phone next time and use your valuable time wisely in 2019.

Your health is also affected, unfortunately. Medical Daily tells use phone usage can "increase stress levels" and "negatively affect emotions." Negative energy does not belong in 2019! Do something good for your health and limit usage.

4. Find your ideal balance between work and play.

Be real with yourself a minute... are you a workaholic or a couch potato? If you're a workaholic, dedicate more of your time to living a little! Spend a couple extra hours a week with family, friends, or doing something you love. I know it feels like you don't have time for it, but make time for it! Your work can wait.

Now for my couch potatoes... hey y'all. It's time to get some work done. Being productive can make you feel really good about yourself and comes with rewarding results. We all have different ideal levels of how much we work and play, so find what works best for your lifestyle.

5. Do what you need to do to become the most confident version of yourself... and do it everyday!

Confidence is KEY! With confidence, you can do anything. So what's holding you back from being your best self? A lack in confidence. Use this year to figure out what you have to do to feel your best. Go to the gym? Try a new look? Improve in your craft? Dig into you. Figure it out, and master it! You have got the Tyra Fierce inside you so it's your year to bring it out.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
