Life Is Worth Living

Never give up on what matters to you.

Sometimes we all wish we could turn back time and have a do-over to keep ourselves from making the mistakes we made. We continue to think about had we done it a different way, we could have avoided what happened. The same line plays in our heads over and over. “If only I…...”

But the past is in the past, and we can’t do anything about it; and sometimes these mistakes can be useful, or a life lesson. It can even benefit you in some ways.

You see, when we make mistakes, we take in what we did, and think to ourselves what you could’ve done to make it different. All those steps are you basically learning from your mistakes so that it won’t happen again. So you could kind of think of it as going back in time and having a do-over, but not really. At least you’ve learned from it and can now avoid doing it again.

We tend to blame ourselves sometimes when bad things happen, or when things happen to us in general, but you shouldn’t have too. Everything has its purpose, and everything happens for a reason. Like falling down. When you fall down, your instinct is to get back up. You are making the choice to keep going, to move on from that fall. You could’ve just given up and stayed on the ground, but how would that benefit you?

Its no secret that we all want what's best for us and we want to choose the right path that best suits us, but its the journey we have to take that would be difficult. There are challenges we face and obstacles we have to get through to get to what we want. Going through all of that shows how much you really want it. That life isn’t easy, but it puts you through a lot. There are occasions where you can’t always reach the point you want, but nobody said life was fair. It’s what you do that matters, how you handle, it and the next steps you take to try again. Don’t be so quick to give up on life or yourself for that matter.

Think of life as race. You want to keep up the pace, and make it as far as you can, maybe even cross the finish line. You don’t have to be first, second, or even third, because when you reach that point in life where you want to be, you’ll be a winner. You’ll feel like a winner, and that’s all that matters, you. Don’t let others get in the way of what you want, or tell you what you can and can’t do. It’s your life and you should make something of it, what you want of it. Everyone lives how they want. Everything can be a challenge when you think of it, but taking it one step at a time can make it easier. You should always keep trying. Pick yourself up from that fall and go. Continue to run as fast as you can, maybe pass a few people on your way. Face those challenges and obstacles and make your way to what you’ve been working for. In the end it’ll be worth it.

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
