Life's Like a Box of Deplorables, You Never Know What Phobia You're Going to Get

My take on Hillary Clinton's recent comments.

Hillary Clinton recently called half of Trump's supporters a "basket of deplorables" saying "they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not American." When I heard her say this, I was ecstatic that someone finally called them for what they are! For the past year, Trump and Republicans have been generating support from these people and they're bringing out the worst in us. As a tolerant American citizen, I say it's time to stop them once and for all and here's my plan to do it.

As a member of the military, I know that before you can defeat an enemy, you need to identify it. You need to name it, so let's do that first. When Trump draws people to his rallies, he's not bringing his best. He's drawing in people with lots of problems. He's bringing racists. He's bringing homophobes. They're xenophobic and Islamophobic. And some, I assume, are good people. We have no protection from them and it's got to stop and it's got to stop fast.

The way I see it, we have two solutions to this problem. Solution 1: We send them back to their homes and we build a wall. It'll be a great wall and we'll make these deplorables pay for that wall. As great as that is, I suggest solution 2: We stop using the views of a few to represent the views of the many. On top of that, we need to realize how insulting and dangerous Hillary Clinton is and take a closer look at her basket of deplorables.

When Clinton jumps to the conclusion that a quarter of the America people are hateful, she's indirectly hinting at what's to come should she be elected. For "deplorables" such as myself who support traditional marriage, we will no longer be able to express our views without being accused of a hate crime and being labeled a homophobe. For the naturalized citizens such as my father who came to the country legally, they will no longer be able to express their frustration with illegal immigrants without being labeled as xenophobic. No matter what the issue is, Clinton has already made her point: it's my way or the highway. Sounds like a dictatorship to me, and as a free American, I find that deplorable.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
