Life's Components

It is what it is.

Life's Components

Let's be real. Life is hella hard. Life is sometimes impossible. Life makes you think of suicide in some moments and makes you think you are powerful in other moments. There are too many components that deal with life. You have to constantly work to meet ends with society and even then you still might not be good enough. Then you have to create a stable mental in order to be able to get through society's bull crap only to be redefined. Life.

I understand why some decide to end their life and why some keep fighting, but honestly what are we fighting for? Equality? Justice? LGBT rights? Human rights? White privilege? Black Lives Matter? Abortion Rights? There's so much to be fighting for and not enough time. Nonetheless, we continue to fight. We continue to get what we deserve. Honestly, that's brave. For example, me being an African American female, every time I call white people out on their bull crap I'm brave.

Every time I call black people out on their bull crap I'm brave. Every time I call the government out on their bull crap I'm brave. Let's be real. We were made to be brave. We were given voices to be heard. We're given ears to listen. We were given legs to walk to our destiny and we were given hands to reach out to those who need us. However, there are setbacks like relationships. Relationships can be deadly. They're just too complex. The idea of giving yourself to a stranger in hopes to create something beautiful. In hopes of creating a better future and finding someone to share it with. Relationships are supposed to be submerged in love and it's supposed to be unconditional. Love. What even does love mean? Some say love is blind and it's a sacrifice, but who is to say what love truly is. Love shows itself in many different forms just like life. Some of it is beautiful and some are ugly. Furthermore, things that involve life is hella hard but I'm amazed by those who see life for what it is and still remains to be brave. I salute those people for having what some people lack. Those are the strong people that we need and yes the world is on their shoulders.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
