It's important to remember the good things.

Sometimes, I find it really hard to remember the good things in my life, especially when my anxiety disorder is being particularly annoying or when I'm so busy with school work that I have no time to think about anything else. However, it's good to remember how many great things I have in my life, especially when I'm feeling overwhelmed.

1. My family

I will forever be grateful for my family. My mom is my best friend. There's no one else I would rather talk to on a regular basis. My two brothers are wonderful, even though we don't always get along as well as I'd like us to. I have a huge extended family, some of which live in Michigan with me, and some of them live in Georgia. I love getting to see the ones in Georgia that we don't see often.

2. My roommates

I am so blessed to have been given the best roommates I could have asked for during our first year in college. Abbey is one of my best friends. She's my optimist when anxiety is pulling me in the opposite direction. Sara is the logical one. She plans things out when Abbey is too excited and I'm too anxious. The three of us fit together really well.

3. My big

I've already written an open letter to my big, but I don't think I'll ever stop talking about how wonderful she is. There aren't words for how thankful I am to have her in my life. She is perfect. I know, everyone says that about their big, but I really mean it! There is no one I'd rather spend most of my time with.

4. My sorority

Except for the first couple of weeks, I've never really felt anxious about doing something with my sorority. All of my sisters are amazing and I love each and every one of them for always making me feel like I belong, especially when I was still new. I love my new member class because of all the time we spent together trying to get used to this new huge part of our lives.

5. My dogs

Would talking about all of the great things in my life be complete without mentioning my wonderful dogs? They're back home, and I miss them every day. I wish, more than anything, that I could have an animal in the dorm. Life is better with pets, and I'm sure anyone who's ever had one will agree.

6. My best friends from high school

We obviously don't get to hang out as much as we used to since I'm at a different school than most of them. Still, every time we do hang out, it's almost like nothing has changed. It's nice to be with people I've known for years. Sometimes, it feels like they all know me better than I know myself.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
