Life With Your Best Friend, As Told By "Dance Academy"

If you’re as blessed as I am, you have that one friend who you can’t live without. You know, the one you do everything with. You laugh together, cry together, get sick of each other and two minutes later, miss them like crazy. She’s the person you binge watch unhealthy amounts of Netflix with and the one you want to talk to when you’re having a rough day. She’s there through it all, and you wouldn’t want it any other way. So, here’s what your life is like together with help from the cast of "Dance Academy."

1. Trying to help each other get in shape.

You and your bestie dream of hitting that beach this summer, but to do that, you need to help each other work off the copious amounts of French fries you ate this semester.

2. Helping each other pick out what you will wear that day.

You’re honest with each other, so you will tell the other when something doesn’t look quite right on them.

3. You embrace each other's weirdness.

No one else gets you, and that’s OK. You understand each other.

4. Stealthily taking selfies on each other's phones.

And not realizing you now possess 42 pictures of the other’s face until three days later when you finally look at your photos.

5. When you have to be separated for even a moment.

Within a span of 10 minutes, you go through the five stages of grief because you miss your bestie so much.

6. When you pass their classroom and look at them like this.

You embarrass them because you love them.

7. When you want to get out of something and they're about to blow your cover.

Please shut up. We’re best friends, you need to back me up on this. It’s a rule.

8. When you get any sort of correspondence from them.

Whether it be a Facebook message, text, phone call, a note in class or good old snail mail, you're always happy to hear from them.

9. Showing off your new shoes to them.

And knowing that in two days they will be asking to borrow them, and you will, of course, say yes because that's what best friends do.

10. When you see each other for the first time after summer vacation.

It's been ages! Never leave my side again!

11. And on move out day, right before summer begins again.

No, I am not OK! I won't see my BFF for three whole months! That's, like, forever!

You may have your ups and downs, but you know you will always be there for each other, especially to embarrass them. But it’s all in love!

So, here's to you, my best friend. You are more important to me than you could possibly know, and I have no clue what I would do without you. You make me a better person, and I thank God every day that I know you.

P.S. Come over soon, so we can binge watch "Dance Academy" again.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
