Sometimes siblings are a lot like Velociraptors.

When people think of the "Jurassic Park" series, they probably don't think of their brothers and sisters. As for me and my siblings, we were raised on "Jurassic Park." (Big thank you to Grampa for showing us the finest movies of all time!)

Being the oldest sibling, here's my take on life with my younger sister and brother, as told by "Jurassic Park."

1. When your mom and dad say you should all spend quality time together

2. When they wake you up just to say, "A stranger is at the front door!"

It's like they forget I still panic when this happens, too.

3. My face when I see one of them with any of my electronic devices

4. When your parents let them off the hook for things you used to get grounded for

5. When you volunteer to make dinner, but they know you can't cook.

Come on, guys. I think I can handle Mac-N-Cheese.

6. "I'm closing my door" means "Come on in!" in younger sibling language.

7. Getting freaked out by a scary movie and both parents are gone

8. When you're trying to give them advice but they walk away instead

9. When you hear them use one of your famous comebacks on their friends

10. "What's high school going to be like?"

11. When you're all in trouble and mom is on her way home

12. But sometimes, being the oldest means taking all the blame.

"Save yourselves, young ones!"

13. Breaking up fights between the little ones

14. The face they make when you bring up the math test they failed at dinner

15. When you can tell you're all about to be in trouble (yet again) and you tell them to "be cool."

16. But they go ahead and lose their cool anyway

"Thanks, guys."

17. When they're totally lying to Mom and Dad and you look at their story like:

18. Anytime you require a password and they get it wrong

19. When someone messes with one of you, they should expect all of you to come fighting.

20. The dreaded, "Where do babies come from?" narrowly avoided

21. So, instead, you distract them with a story of how cute they were when they were born.

Sure, younger siblings can get you into lots of trouble, and you can do the same to them. The most important thing to remember is that you're all there for one another, no matter what. If you're the oldest sibling like me, you know that you're allowed to give them a hard time, but no one else is. Because, at the end of the day, they're your little monkeys to begin with.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
