They say that running away from your problems is the worst way to deal with them. But sometimes you reach a point where you feel as though you have lost all control of your life and have no other way than starting over. There are so many negative things in the world that can leave their mark on those who are sensitive and don’t know how to fight back. Bullying, depression, eating disorders, social standards and so many others create an impact on our lives.

Once you start to go downhill, it is hard to get back up, you just keep falling, factors of life keep pushing you down, and you get so overwhelmed that all you want to do is scream and just make all the madness stop. Sometimes all we need is a do-over, a restart button that will put our lives back on track on our pursuit to be happy and live a fulfilled life.

What if told you that there is a way to find this restart button and to give yourself a chance at starting over? It isn’t easy, but if you are truly at the bottom of the hill you have been constantly pushed down from, then you would know that anything to get yourself up would be worth fighting for. You need to find the things in life that give you happiness and surround yourself in just those things.

I was bullied in middle school. Every day was a struggle to get out of bed and face those who held a strong sense of hatred towards me. Being a victim of bullying lead me to develop heavy depression, social anxiety and low self-esteem. All of which today, six years later, I am still struggling with to completely overcome. But I was given the opportunity to go to another high school, away from all the people who bullied me and give myself a start over. This was one of the best decisions of my life because I started to live again. I erased my past and lived in the moment not regretting getting out of bed every day. I built new relationships with people who didn’t want to hurt me and without such a negative impact, I was able to allow myself to live positively.

I don’t mean to say to run away from your problems, but sometimes when it comes down to the only solution is to find a new place and completely start over, take it. College allows for this opportunity. You can choose to go to a completely new place to pursue your education and meet new people. You are given the chance to define yourself in a completely new way and find who you truly are. There is something about an experience like that that is truly amazing. I don’t think that I could have ever found myself, without coming from the bottom of the hill and riving my chance to make my way to the top. Starting over is the best restart button for a happy life - take it or leave it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
