It's hard being a picky eater. People are always ridiculing you when you go out to eat at restaurants. At the end of the day, though, you know your taste buds better than anyone else. Want to go to a fancy restaurant and order french fries and macaroni and cheese? You do you. Whatever makes you happy. Here are the struggles of being a picky eater.
1. Chicken fingers are always the go-to.
Listen, if I’m in a new restaurant, my eyes are frantically searching the menu for chicken fingers. It’s the safe option.
2. It’s not that I’m not about trying new things, I just like playing it safe.
Why risk trying something new that you might not like when you can eat food that you know you’ll like?
3. Some toppings are just too much.
I’m the first to admit that I’ve never tried hot sauce. I never felt the need to. My food tastes the way I like it.
4. No need to get crazy with ordering food.
My orders at Chipotle or Moe’s are always quick and easy. The ingredients don’t get crazier than chicken, cheese, lettuce, and black beans. If I’m feeling crazy, maybe I’ll put some guac on there
5. "You eat like a child."
Yeah, so what my palate hasn’t expanded since age 12? I’m
fine with it. I don’t need sly comments about my eating. It's not affecting you.
It is an everyday battle. But, it's always worth it. Who doesn't love food?
