The Life Of A Pale Person

You and the sun have an interesting relationship.

You have either been friends with a pale person, or you are pale yourself. So most people understand the struggles us pale people go through. Don't get me wrong, being pale has its pros and cons! Some pros include having pretty clear skin, but some cons include sunburning and people not understanding what being pale entails. Many people can relate to some of the blessings and curses that come with having pale skin.

1. Sunburn!!!

You learned very quickly that your best friend is 100+ SPF sunblock. If you forgot your sunblock, you ended up burned so bad, you blistered. You also learned at a very young age that you will never be tan because your skin simply can't tan.

2. Freckles are our tan!

You pride yourself with freckles, that's how you know you are "tanning." People sometimes say,"Wow you are actually getting a little tan — oh, I see, it's just your freckles!"

3. Foundation is your nightmare!

instead of looking like your face is darker than the rest of your body, you just don't wear foundation.

4. You most likely have a low tolerance to heat as well.

Thank your blue eyes and red hair/red cast in your hair for that.

5. When people try to tell you to go outside more.

What they don't understand is the fact that you can spend every day out in the sun and still never tan! From four years of marching band, I can tell you that.

6. When even the clouds let you down!

You thought you didn't need that sunblock!

7. Doing any physical activity.

I don't know how many times someone's commented on my red face. Like I didn't already know it was red, thanks.

8. Having pale legs.

I also can't count the number of times someone has commented on my pasty white legs.

9. This little gem!

10. You've joked about being a vampire before.

Especially when you have sunblock on, and it shines in the sunlight.

11. You've had this happen quite a bit!

Your face is just naturally pale...

12. You are the fairest of them all.

13. After years of applying sunblock, you are just tired of it.

But, you have to apply it so you don't burn.

14. When you try to take a selfie, but you end up very washed out.

You have learned what lighting you look the best in.

15. When people think you are blushing a lot.

Your face is just naturally red.

16. You've been told that you wouldn't look right actually being tan.

Like I ever wanted to be tan anyway...

17. You actually are proud of who you are and embrace it!

You'd rather be pale and healthy than tan and wrinkly.

18. You are allergic to the sun.

Sun poisoning is a thing, and combined with sunburn, you are itchy and it burns!

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
