6 Reasons Why Being An Empath Is The Most Exhausting And Rewarding Quality

In This Article:

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't feel for another person emotionally and physically. The qualities of an empath typically include a compassionate and understanding soul with innate healing abilities. I have the natural ability to connect to a person's innermost thoughts and feelings without subconsciously trying. The way I perceive the world around me is affected by the energies in which I surround myself with. My capacity to understand and connect to another person's emotions tends to attract many people, which can be overwhelming as I tend to devote my energies into these influences around me. I wanted to list some traits of an empath that some of you might also find yourselves relating to.

1. Strangers start venting to you in public.

Perhaps one of the most obvious signs you're an empath is when people feel comfortable opening up to you. You tend to be the person that strangers release their problems onto because of your compassion and desire to comfort those in need.

2. They can pick up on other's mood changes.

Whenever empaths are surrounded by another person, they can instinctively tell a change in that individual's mood. They are physically affected by the emotions in which the person around them is feeling.

3. They can tell when someone's lying.

Being able to sense other people's emotions helps empaths pick up on dishonesty. This quality is a double-edged sword as people's lies are disheartening to an empaths open and trusting soul.

4. They're excellent listeners.

The listening capabilities of an empath is unmatched. They are able to give you their undivided attention and make you feel as though you are actually being heard.

5. They're affected by TV shows or movies.

The violence depicted through TV shows and movies can negatively impact an empath. They often feel the pain that the characters are feeling or the hardships that they face.

6. They're overly expressive.

The way an empath expresses themselves is shown through their warm personality and facial expressions. Their friendly and welcoming aura has this way of making those around them enjoy their presence.

The life of an empath can be as much challenging as it is rewarding. While empaths do enjoy creating a peaceful environment, they do it at the cost of their own peace. While empaths positively impact the world around them through their giving souls, they can get burnt out and tend to close themselves off. It's important to understand that empaths get overwhelmed by the emotions they feel so deeply and need ample time to recharge. While being an empath may seem exhausting, a lot of people lack these qualities. Being an empath isn't something that can be learned which makes these individuals so special to this world. Those who possess these traits are beautiful in their ways of thinking, and their knowledge is a gift to everyone in their path.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
