No one can explain our job better than this dynamic duo.

Every Editor-in-Chief gets each other -- we're like a little community of our own. We all know the struggle of not hitting our article goal, losing a creator, or having to crank out an extra article to boost your team morale.

We also reap the amazing benefits, like when your creators are proud of themselves and you feel like you've won the lottery. But for everyone that isn't an EIC for Odyssey, you might not understand exactly what we go through every day. So, I called upon our favorite duo, the Gilmore girls, to help me put what I do into perspective.

1. When a creator texts you about not-Odyssey things

To all of our creators: Please do this!!! Please, please, please text me. Tell me how your day was. What was your win for the week? Did that cute boy/girl ask you out?! Ask me anything. TALK TO ME!

2. That feeling when the GroupMe explodes without you trying

When someone else gets the GroupMe going or actually responds, it's the biggest win out there. It makes us feel not-so-crazy; we hate when we're the only ones talking in the chat.

3. Everyone asking for a week off in the same. Damn. Week.

A lot of the times, it's out of the EIC's control (and the creator, too) but it just kills us when all of our creators feel they can't submit one week.

4. Cranking out an email like it's your job

I mean, technically, it totally is your job but still. Email has become my new favorite form of communication and truth be told, I'll probably answer your email faster than your text.

5. When a creator pulls out a bomb article

I swear I feel like a proud Lorelai every time this happens. Like, WOW. You. Are. Fire. Amazing. I love it. 10/10. Do it again sometime!!

6. Only getting 2 articles in on time when there should be, like, 20

I won't even lie and say I haven't shed a tear over this because I most certainly have. It's like the biggest feeling of failure and disappointment in yourself. You just feel like you could've done more to help your creators.

7. Or when every one of your creators gets their article in on time

IT DOESN'T GET BETTER THAN THIS! EVER, EVER, EVER (so get your articles in on time please & thank you)!

8. The joy you get when your Content Strategist tells you, "you're on track to tier"

There is so much pride in knowing you're on track and right where you're supposed to be. There's nothing like it.

9. The pit in your stomach when a creator leaves the team

No, no, no! Please stay! I care about you -- don't let me. *sad face*

10. Every time a creator says they can't write because they don't have a topic

HI! That's what I'm here for: to HELP YOU! Believe it or not, that is literally in the job description. Let me help you.

11. Having way too much work to do at the beginning of the week

Mondays are editing days, writing days, meeting days, lets-get-the-GroupMe-going days... everything happens on Mondays.

12. Getting a text after the submission deadline asking for an extension from a creator

Unless it is an absolute emergency, please text us before the deadline. PLEASE! We have our own lives to live and we can't worry about last-minute extensions that could have been solved 24 hours ago.

13. Loving your team with your whole being

Being an EIC is the hardest job I've ever had. It's also the most rewarding. And each of us loves what we do and we love our team endlessly. Never forget how much faith we have in you.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
