Shakespearean Sonnet: “The Life of Music”
I open my eyes this day to awake
And then I start my day on a good note
And begin to compose my song-like day
With sweet and smooth melodic quarter notes
I start off my piece with a major key
Walking down the long 4/4 rhythmic path
People walking and waltzing down the street
Walk with a beat of their own tempoed staff
My life is filled with ties, and runs, and slurs
Often on and off in tempo and length
As time goes by all through the chorded words
My weaknesses crescendo to my strengths
The life of music is so smooth and grand
Compose it well upon the music stand.
