"One Tree Hill" ended four years ago but the show has continued to leave a special place in all of our hearts. We went through nine years of deaths, kidnappings, love, and so many more great Tree Hill moments. Nine seasons of such a great show left fans with important life lessons that are still relevant today.
Always enjoy every moment with those you love.
Make sure you never take a moment with the ones you love for granted. Unfortunately, Peyton's saying, "people always leave," can be true. You never know what tomorrow will bring. Grab every second with those you love before it's gone.
Dreams do come true.
It's easy to think you're working hard for nothing. You work so hard toward your goals and dreams but sometimes you don't see results and think they'll never happen. Don't let any setbacks or bumps in the road stop you from reaching your dreams. Remember when Nathan Scott was in a wheelchair and thought he'd never make it to the NBA? He worked hard and did it. You can achieve your dreams too!
Love does conquer all.
Giving up on someone can be easier than getting through all the hard stuff. You might think you will never make it through something horrible, but you can and you will. If Naley could get married in high school and survive crazy Nanny Carrie, cheating rumors, kidnappings and much more, then you and your loved one can make it through any hard day.
Be who you are.
Never make any excuses about who you are. Don't be afraid to be yourself. Every character on "One Tree Hill" is an example of this at one time or another because it's such an important lesson. You are you and that's awesome. Don't change it or be afraid of it.
Stand up for what you believe in.
Your opinion, the truth, and your beliefs matter. Stand up for it and don't be afraid to tell it.
Your labels do not define you.
Unfortunately, people are going to label you. However, those labels do not define you and do not matter. Overcoming those labels, proving people wrong, and showing that you're better than the labels people try to use to define you are what matters.
People can change.
It's hard to believe people will ever truly change. Once someone disappoints or hurts you it's difficult to picture them ever changing. However, people are capable of change, it just takes some time. Remember Brooke being the annoying party girl in the early seasons? Slowly, she became such an inspirational woman in the end. Or hello... Dan Scott. You hated him for nine seasons and then, when he died, you couldn't help but cry, because he did change. Change can take a while, but it can happen.
Things do get better.
That pain you're feeling on a bad day, or a few bad days, will go away. It may not seem like it, but it will. Never stop believing that.
There's no place like home.
Your hometown and your home will always have a special place in your heart. Wherever you go and whatever you do, it's your home.
