Life Lessons From How I Met Your Mother That Are Legen-

DARY. Legendary. For nine seasons, HIMYM filled our lives with a lot of happiness, some heartbreaking moment,s and maybe even a few parts that made us angry. The cast learned a lot of lessons about the struggle of love, life, friendship and family. In the process they were working on finding themselves and oftentimes it felt like we were a part of the gang, drinking beer at Maclaren's Pub. Regardless if you're a major fan (maaaaaajor fan) like myself or not, here are some life lessons inspired by How I Met Your Mother.

1. Taking Chances

Life is one big mystery, but if you just sit around for opportunities to fall into your lap you'll never get anywhere. No matter how scary something is, don't wait to take a chance. It's never too late to take a different career path, or to go and talk to that girl or guy you've had an interest in forever, whatever it may be, just do it. No one's life is perfect but if you're not happy, the only way anything is going to change is if you do.

2. Keep your Wing-Women / Wing-Men close

When you need it most, your go to girl or guy will always be there to lend a hand. They're going to be honest with you when you need it most and also for those times that you didn't really ask for it but appreciate it anyway. This person will always be down to do something spontaneous, like for instance, licking The Liberty Bell. Well, maybe not exactly that, BUT when you're up for a crazy night it's always nice to have someone handy who will be willing to do just about anything.

3. Three deep breaths

As someone who suffers from a lot of anxiety this is the most important piece of advice that anyone could ever follow. When things start heading south, sometimes the one thing that will improve it significantly can be as simple as three deep breaths. Life is too short and precious to stress out, so just relax, everything will be fine.

4.Everyone has a slutty pumpkin moment

If you've never seen the show I know you're asking the same question. What I mean by this, is that one day you're going to meet someone or experience something that is going to change your life, for better or for worse. If it's one thing that HIMYM likes to play with, it's the idea of destiny. Who knows, maybe this could be what you've been waiting for, or maybe it could be just another lesson. It may not work out but it may just lead to another moment that does....

5. Love endlessly

"Love is the best thing we do," which that may be easier for some rather than others. I will admit that I'm way too stubborn and independent for my own good. In fact, for a really long time I was convinced that I was a total Robin, however, one year into my relationship and I've turned into a Ted (Pst, I'm totally okay with it though). It's hard to let go sometimes, I get it. Past relationships can affect us for much longer even after you've broken up. Find someone who is willing to help you see that it's okay to let go.

There you have it: just a few of the many life lessons that HIMYM has to offer. If you've never seen the show then you're in luck, all nine seasons are on Netflix. Go and binge watch my friends, you have some major catching up to do (maaaaajor catching up).

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
