What I Learned from Clients

Having worked in a digital agency for seven years, I've learned different positive life lessons from our clients...

What I Learned from Clients

No man is an island

From Areaworks

Areaworks, a coworking space in London, has always been into promoting positivity, mental health and collaboration from the time that we started working with them.

I am a self-diagnosed introvert so I don't really like collaboration that much. I thought that I'm okay being alone. But ever since I got saved and learned the importance of people and being with them, I appreciate how Areaworks consistently promotes it.

I still don't see myself working in a shared office space in the near future but we never know, I may consider doing so once everything goes back to normal. Let's pray for it :)

Be sustainable

From Summertown

I grew up in a household with no idea about sustainability. So when I first encountered the word through our client Summertown, I only thought of reducing environmental footprints. But as I delve deeper to it, it's much broader than I thought. Now, even when I'm thinking of cashflow or budgeting, I now take into consideration if the plan is sustainable. I can not just start something if I know that it's not feasible to be implemented in a long run. That also involves making changes in my lifestyle and habits. Are you also being sustainable?

Accept positive criticisms

From Kaizen

I think you'll agree that it's not a good feeling when someone tells you you're wrong or your suggestion is not the best. When I started learning the Bible, I understood how important it is to be corrected of your wrongs. And that is also what coaches are there for. I am one of those who initially thought business coaches are just an added expense (especially when you think of how expensive they are!). But I've seen how coaching sessions with Murtaza from Kaizen positively influenced my boss when it comes to the business decisions. I think they are the added push for you to change something or get something done.

Be more human

I've been guilty of acting like a robot for quite some time now. I just do what I've been told. My "common sense seems to be not common". When you're being chased by deadlines, critical thinking seems not to be an option and you just need to get everything done on time. But that's not a good practice. Like what Joie Brands say, "Be more human", act like one, think like one. It's not an excuse that you're caught up with a lot of tasks that you forget what you're there for. Like what I said earlier, no man is an island. We are expected to feel, think and express like how humans do. So it's a challenge. And hopefully, this platform will help me achieve that :)

Be innovative

Lately, I've been struggling with productivity in all areas of my life. Last month, I wanted to start with a new morning habit but failed to push through with it because I wasn't a morning person to start with. I also signed up to different webinars but failed to attend in all. I keep on failing on these plans. Probably because I was doing it wrong. RSA Global is into finding solutions that suit a need. So I should ask myself, "what is my need?", "What do I want to achieve?" Once I've pointed these out, then that's the only time I can work on solutions to avoid missing the target. Like what the Bible says "I therefore so run, but not with uncertainty; I so fight, but not as one that beateth the air." I keep beating the air (missed the target) because I don't have a concrete plan or solution. Sigh.

Be results-oriented

From Grow

Our pastor is big on records - from attendance to offerings and expenses. That's why I appreciate how our company, Grow, is also pushing for results in all our activities, both internally or for clients. It's not enough that you're doing something. The question is, did it provide good results? Similar to #5, it's not enough that you just plan and execute, but the action should be the best to achieve the results you're looking for. Same with my daily personal activities which I feel like very unproductive. They don't produce great results. I wanted to be healthy, but my diet won't do. And to produce good results, I have to have a plan.

Still praying that I could eventually come up with new plan or habits that will really work and act on them.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Economic Benefits of Higher Wages

Nobody deserves to be living in poverty.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
