Have you ever felt super bummed out or like no matter what you do you just can't seem to get ahead? Well so does everyone else who's ever lived, it's just hard to see it sometimes. Don't worry though, because I have the answer to all of your doubts and stress, watch "The Middle." Seriously. It's easily one of the most undervalued shows on television right now. It's funny without being annoyingly trendy and it accurately depicts the modern American everyday life. Whenever I have a bad day or I'm feeling down, the Heck family is there to remind me that everyone's confused and worried. They also remind me that there's really no reason to worry because everything works out until it doesn't and you just die. My favorite character on the show has to be Axl Heck though. He's the oldest child, he's exactly my age, he's calm under pressure and always says it like it is. So below are a few life lessons I've learned from the ax man himself. Who says TV can't teach you anything?
Listen to your impulses and trust your gut.
Axl knows the importance of a full stomach, so when in doubt, eat!
When life gives you an opportunity, you take it and make the most out of it.
Whether it's tripping your sister or the possibility of a new job, don't let fear hold you back.
There's literally someone out there for all of us. Keep your head up.
It's all about your perspective, honestly.
But if you get tired and need a break, take one.
Don't feel less than if you need to throw yourself on the ground and breathe. (Literally and figuratively).
Never forget that you are strong and capable of anything, just like Beyonce.
No one is better than anyone else, so with that mindset you ARE Beyonce. Basically.
Wit and sass can get a person far in life.
A smart mouth may annoy a lot of people, but the odds of them talking back to you are slim to none, so win, win.
When in doubt, dance it out.
Axl isn't afraid to let loose and have fun and neither should you.
Always believe in yourself.
Don't be your worst enemy, and other people may not believe in you, but posters always do.
When something just doesn't feel right leave immediately.
When the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, listen to 'em.
Make your compliments genuine or don't say anything at all.
No matter who you're talking to it always pays to be nice ... or at least try to be.
And lastly, honesty is always the best policy.
As long as you're being 100 percent you, you're good.
Check out "The Middle," Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
