If you're an avid "Game of Thrones fan" like myself, you've come to understand the characters and their family backgrounds by now. You know their allies, their enemies, what makes them mad, and what makes them happy. You appreciate their roles in the show (even the ones who need to just die already). Thanks to HBO's writers and producers, many life lessons have also been implemented into the plot. Take a look at these 10 life lessons, as told by "Game of Thrones."
1. Believe in Yourself
There is no one more determined than Jaimie Lannister. I mean, come on... attempting to joust the Mother of Dragons and her noble steed? Yeah, right.
2. Don't Question Authority
In "Game of Thrones," knowing your rank is essential to survival. If you're told to bend the knee, YOU BEND THE KNEE.
3. Love Has No Boundaries
No one would have pictured a Targaryen to end up falling in love with a Dothraki leader after an arranged marriage. The Queen may no longer have her King (RIP), but no one has forgotten their love story.
4. Always Dress Accordingly
We are on Season 7 now. They have known for years that winter was coming. Therefore, please quit the shivering and start planning a wardrobe before trekking across Westeros.
5. Babies Don't Stay Small
House Targaryen can tell you first-hand that cute, baby dragons don't stay small for long. Before you know it, they will be sinking ships, scorching men, leveling cities, and destroying battlefields.
6. With Drinking Comes Consequences
We understand that the ale and wine is considered safer to consume than the water. But alcohol is still alcohol. Pace yourself, eat some bread, and maybe find some mint.
7. Puppies Become Loyal Best Friends
Remember how cute baby Ghost, Lady, Summer, Nymeria, ShaggyDog and Grey Wind were?! Now over half of them are dead (RIP) and the living ones are nearly the size of horses. Regardless of size or distance from home, their loyalty will always reside with House Stark.
8. Things Aren't Always As They Appear
You may never know who you're talking to or fighting with, which is terrifying. You may also never know who is alive or dead, which is even more terrifying. Caution is always suggested.
9. Winter is Hell
After several seasons, we see just how much havoc revolves around the weather. Winter may be cold and make you want to hibernate until summer, but there's unfortunately no time for that when the dead army is trying to draft you.
10. Family is Everything
Above all, nothing matters more than knowing a family member is safe. Make sure to hug loved ones a little tighter every chance you get.
