Life Is Tough, But So Are You

"If you find yourself feeling like it's too tough, remember, you're not alone. There's lots of people at the table.. and it's a cool table." - Kid President

Have you ever had one of those days, weeks, months when you feel like nothing is going the way it should? Yeah, me too. Here's some advice for anyone who needs a pick me up, or a reminder to keep fighting through whatever you are going through.

"Be strong and courageous, for the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go" Joshua 1:9.

"Hold it all together
Everybody needs you strong
But life hits you out of nowhere
And barely leaves you holding on

And when you're tired of fighting
Chained by your control
There's freedom in surrender
Lay it down and let it go

So when you're on your knees and answers seem so far away
You're not alone, stop holding on and just be held
Your world's not falling apart, it's falling into place
I'm on the throne, stop holding on and just be held
Just be held, just be held" - Casting Crowns

When life decides to come out of nowhere and smack you across the face, just remember there is a God out there who has your back. Give all of your worries, fears and struggles to Him. He is there to help you. Don't get me wrong, it is okay to cry sometimes and get upset, but don't let that consume your life. You are better than that, stronger than that. Prove to the world that you can beat whatever you are going through. Walk through life with a smile on your face. Lean on friends in time of need. Pray often. Eat Ice-cream... Lots and lots of ice cream. Stay positive and look at the bright side of every situation. Do not give up. There are so many people that care about you and want you to succeed. "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

"We're all born to make a difference. It's easy to get overwhelmed, feel like you can't do anything. That's why we have each other. Yeah there's a lot of bad stuff in the world, but there's you and then there's me." - Kid President

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

1028
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
