Recently, a common reoccurrence in my life has been the phrase "Life's too short." It has been said in a positive and a negative way. Which got me thinking about all the things we might take for granted and really not know we had until they're gone.
I've had people in my life who've dealt with hardships mentally, physically and emotionally. I always try to understand where they are coming from because life's too short to just not care. As John Green has said, "That's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt."
You have to let yourself feel the emotion but you can't dwell or it will completely take you over. You just have to learn and gain a new perspective on it. I've had people who've told me things about themselves where they've barely cheated death and that they're happy they're here today because they don't live life simply, they live life like every day is their last.
There's always a chance that it could be your last day. It's a scary thought, yes, but you have to understand that's the truth . You can either hide from that fact and live life without adventure and moments of pure joy. Or you can make the most of it and put your best foot forward and make it your goal to not take life for granted.
I want to take a moment in this writing and send a prayer for anyone who has known or even been through suffering and pain in any way. I want them to know, you're still alive and breathing and you're here today for a purpose. Life's too short to not be happy or do what you love. You simply have to "go forth and love your neighbor as yourself."
