My hometown is suffering the loss of a community member and I am realizing that life is way too short. People in today's society are concerned about all the wrong things, including myself. We're all worried about the future. We are always thinking about what tomorrow holds for us, and the days that come after that. Am I saying that isn't important? No, because it is. But we need to not be afraid to put those things on hold and to just live in the moment.

Here's some things to remember when struggling with the loss of someone:

1. Cherish what you have

Don't wait until it's too late to say what you're thinking. Tell somebody you know that you love them.

2. Take chances

Don't live life wondering what could have been. If you want to do something, then do it. Don't wonder what could have been.

3. It's okay to cry

It's okay to cry sometimes. We all fall down sometimes.

4. Just make sure you get back up again!

After the storm comes the rainbow. Even when nothing seems to be going right, a simple smile can change everything.

5. Live in the moment

Don't worry about what happened yesterday. Don't think about the things you could've changed, because chances are you couldn't have. Just live in the moment and enjoy today.

6. Challenge yourself

Climb a mountain. Go some place you have never been to. Learn to play an instrument. Learn to draw. Take up a new language. Do something to challenge yourself. Dare to be outstanding.

7. Don't settle

Don't settle for anything less than you deserve. Life is too short to waste time on anything less than you deserve. Don't settle for being good. Strive to be great.

8. No regrets

Don't live life with regrets. What's done is done. If it wasn't your destination, it was your preparation.

9. Have no worries

"Hakuna Matata: it means no worries." There's some things life you just can't control. Don't waste your time worrying.

10. Good vibes

Life is too short. So only good vibes.

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
