As I sit here and scroll through Instagram and Facebook, I see so many of my friends traveling the world. Every time I see a whole album of pictures filled with places I want to go, I swear my soul dies just a little bit.
It has always been one of my dreams to see the world. I mean why should we stay in the same place our whole life? God made this world with so many beautiful sights. Even down to sunsets and sunrises. Each day starts with beauty and ends with beauty. With each sunset, sunrise, and starry night I am reminded how beautiful the world really is.
A quote I read stuck with me the other day. It read, "Life happens in between Wi-Fi signals," and I honestly couldn't agree more. Yes, our smart phones are awesome, but the real memories are made outside of our 6 inch iPhone screen. I can't preach too much about getting off of technology. I'm guilty of spending hours on it every day. I just desire to see places that are completely different from what I experience in my every day routine. I want to see wonders of nature, big or small, that make me question if they are even real or not. I want places that make me feel things that I've never felt before. I want to be in places that make me forget that I even have a phone.
From the giant sequoias in Sequoia National Park to the smallest wildflowers on the side of the road, the world is a beautiful place to experience.
Nature isn't the only thing you need to experience in between Wi-Fi signals. People. People are out there. Yes, real, living, breathing people. Gather up your people and go somewhere that you all enjoy. Create new friendships and new memories that will last a lifetime. Take some time away from school or work, just enough to experience what you want but I know how busy 'life' is, and go out and see the world.
So as I continue to sit here and scroll through pictures I want to try to promise myself that I will take myself away from the Wi-Fi and see what is really out there. I also want to thank the people for traveling to all the places that you have and inspiring me to see what you have, and also for posting such beautiful pictures of what you experienced.
