The Video You Have to Watch: Life Explained in 27 Seconds

Does anyone really have life "figured out?" If you're the average college student, I bet you most likely don't. With that being said, the New York filmmaker, Casey Neistat, did a pretty good job explaining it.

The thing about life is that for all of the hardships we might endure, it could be worse. Obviously, that might be a little cheesy and obnoxious because we all like to sulk sometimes. But there comes a point where it's time to suck it up. Life is about hustling; you have to stay on your grind and keep pushing regardless of what is happening. If my parents read this, they would probably laugh because this is coming from me, but it really is the truth.

Everyone gets down sometimes and that's fine, but if you take too long to sulk, you're wasting time! The guy who put together this 27-second film, Mr. Neistat, is the perfect example of a person who wastes no time. Now in his mid 30s, he has worked incredibly hard to become a successful filmmaker in New York City. Any time not being used to get something done is considered a waste of time in his book.

As extreme as that might sound, he isn't wrong. Think about how much more you might get done if you eliminated just a bit of down time in your day. Not all down time (don't worry, I'm not crazy), but just a little. Anyone can get stuff done if they put their mind to it.

Life is complicated. There's no arguing with that, but hustling, regardless of whatever might be going on, is definitely a start to moving in the right direction. It might be hard to accept that and actually take action, but trust me, if you get up and accomplish something right now, you will feel better than you did prior to completing that task. Now if only I practiced what I was preaching! Being lazy might be more fun than being proactive a lot of the time, but being proactive allows you to accomplish life goals. At the end of the day, no one can help you get through life without you helping yourself.

Don't forget to hustle.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
