The Life Changing Concept Of 'Love Does'
Love Does

I’m a firm believer in the power of words. Words can change the way we think and act, and it can even change the way we live our lives. With that in mind, I believe that the simple two-word phrase “Love Does” has the power to move mountains. Bob Goff details the scope of this idea in his book “Love Does.” Throughout his memoir-style book, Goff shares the incredible collection of stories that make up the exciting narrative of his life thus far. Through his remarkable adventures and joyful storytelling, he teaches us that love has the ability to achieve something amazing: simply stated, love does.

So, first thing’s first. What does “love does” actually mean?

It means that love facilitates the growth and change that brings about the kind of joy that we crave in our lives. This kind of love creates monumental change, tears down walls, and shines light in the darkest places. The term love itself can be interpreted in so many ways. When we say love, what do we mean? According to Goff, the kind of love that truly “does” is one in which we care deeply for others, value the needs of the world around us, and love our neighbors as ourselves. The author shows us that if we want to love the world, we have to start by loving people.

It can be very difficult to love people, and some are certainly easier to love than others. To love our neighbors as ourselves is a huge commitment. As humans, we are naturally selfish creatures, even though we try to deny it. Loving others as ourselves requires us silencing our own cries for attention, and amplifying the whispers of those who have no voice. Sometimes this requires us stepping out of our comfort zones, out of ourselves, and into another situation. In fact, in order to spread the kind of love that moves mountains, we have to reach out in ways that we never would have imagined we could.

Many of the stories that Goff writes about in his book involve the work he has been doing in Uganda, Somalia, and India. The Love Does team has been building schools to provide education and opportunities to people who need it the most. Through his work of giving and his unending commitment to loving the world, Bob Goff shows us that love can change things, whether it is one simple situation, or someone’s entire life.

If there’s anything that Bob Goff teaches us, it’s that by loving people and giving to people, we are spreading the most pure and true kind of love that we could possibly experience. When we create the kind of love that “does”, we are learning to love the world. Goff says it best at the end of his book when he states, “If I’ve learned one thing, it’s that love does whatever it takes to multiply itself and somehow along the way, everyone becomes a part of it. You know why? Because that’s what love does.”

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
