No matter how old you are, there's some things you can never seem to grow out of. Spongebob happens to be one of those things. Looking back, there's so many instances where Spongebob perfectly described my feelings and thoughts as an athlete. Seems like Spongebob is more relatable than I thought.

1. When you have to wake up at 5:30 in the morning for conditioning in January and it's only 20 degrees out.

I can't feel my body.

2. And after you finish your sprints, you can't breathe and you feel like your heart is going to pop out of your chest

What is happening?

3. But then your coach says "Get back on the line" and you just stand there trying not to cry.

Must. Not. Show. Fear.

4. When your running your sprints, you think about why you haven't thrown yourself off a cliff yet.

I feel like I'm dying.

5. "Just one more sprint and you're done!" -Coach

You sit on a throne of lies.

6. When you get to class, you have to fight to keep your eyes open.

Need caffeine now.

7. When you think about all the homework you have to do, on top of showering, sleeping, practice, and weight lifting.

Can I just focus on breathing?

8. When you look around at all the students who got a full eight hours of sleep when you barely got six.

Don't you dare tell me you're tired.

9. When school and sports just becomes too much and you have a mental breakdown

It's going to be just like 2007 Britney...the remix.

10. The moment when you're laying in bed thinking about all the things your coach is going to have you do at practice tomorrow

I would rather have nightmares of people chasing me with machetes.

11. When you get to practice and realize that it's going to be a fitness day

Well, crap.

12. When you finally get to eat after a really hard practice

My plate has never held so much food.

13. When your legs are so sore that you can't walk...

Can you roll me to class?

14. The "happy dance" you do when you realize it's the weekend and you have two days off

It's time to celebrate...with 15 hours of sleep and Netflix.

Who knew Spongebob and his friends were secretly athletes in their free time?

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
