1. Saying "no" becomes really easy

2. The band boosters dictate your life

3. When your kids give you too much attitude


4. When your kids want an inspirational speech but that's not your forte


5. Coming to rehearsals no matter how sick you are


6. When your section gets a compliment on the judge's tape

7. The lesson that some kids just never seem to understand

8. Those days where you're just not quite all put together

9. When a kid breaks set before they're told to relax

10. That kid that takes it too far when you give them a compliment

11. When it's super hot during band camp

12. Listening to some of the ridiculous excuses for missing rehearsal


13. Troubleshooting the electronics


14. When the band boosters provide food


15. When championships rolls around


16. Random times of unsolicited emotions

17. Thinking ahead to the off-season


18. Getting asked a question that is clearly intended for the band director

19. Sometimes your expectations can be a little bit high

20. Trying to decide what to work on during your rehearsal

21. Dressing up for a competition day

22. When your kids are just downright awesome and you can't help but be proud

But at the end of the day, you know you wouldn't trade it for the world.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.
