With 11 years of home-school experience under my belt, I figured that I'd come and inform the curious people of the world about the pros and cons of being a home-schooled child.
You get to sleep in until noon every day.
You always forget what day of the week it is.
You never have to change out of your pajamas.
It tends to pretty lonely sometimes.
You get to stay and cuddle with your pets.
You have to deal with your parents constantly.
You get a bit offended when people say, "But you turned out so good!" when they find out.
What does that even mean?
People assume that your parents are either religious extremists, hippies, or anti-establishment (and, by extension, you are too).
People always ask where you go/went to school.
You meet other home-schooled kids like:
You apply to colleges/scholarships (and get spam from other colleges) like:
Then, you experience the culture shock of what it's like when you finally get to go off to college.
You realize just how shoddy your education really was.
You are socially inept and forced to meet new people.
Now that you have had a small taste of the world of a home schooled kid, you can see that we aren't really all that different from you. We're just much more tired, angry, and socially awkward.
