Life Advice From Kid President

Sometimes our weeks are long. It's hard to find motivation to be a decent human being when little things continually go wrong. Kid President has a way with words that puts everything in perspective, and he's just so adorable! Here's some advice form Kid President for basically any situation that could push you over the edge.

When you failed a test and you have a project due the next day and 4 meetings this afternoon and you suck at time management:

"Life is tough, but so are you."

"...Keep going, keep going, keep going and keep going. What if Michael Jordan had quit? Well he didn’t quit, he retired, ya yes, he retired. Before that, in high school, what if he quit and didn’t make the team he would of never made Space-jam and I love Space Jam. What would be your space-jam, what will you create to make the world awesome?"

When your roommate is having a bad day and you want to cheer her up but you're stressed out because you have 3 tests the next day and you need to be cheered up too:

"Treat everybody like it's their birthday."

"Give people high fives for just getting out of bed. Being a person is hard sometimes."

"Life needs you to stop being boring."

When that kid in your class is arguing everything and won't shut up and you want to go off on them:

"Don't be mean, be meaningful."

"I disagree with you but I still like you as a person who is a human being and I will treat you like that because if I don't it will make everything bad and that's what lots of people do and it's lame."

When you're in a fight with your best friend and you don't know what to say to make it better:

"You only fail if you don't try."

Throw kindness around like confetti!"

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
