Libraries Are Your Friend

In This Article:

I know as a college student, it can be difficult to buckle down and find time to get all your work done. Even more of a challenge when you are in your dorm room. This is why you should take advantage of your campus library.

1. Peace and Quiet

Even if you don't go there with the explicit intention of studying at least you get a break from the chaos and stress that might be filling your day. It's so great to surround yourself with people who are also hard at work so that you fill inspired as well.

2. No distractions

It is much easier not to get distracted when you are not in your room or have your phone nearby with incoming texts. Instead, you can limit the technology and just focus on what you need to finish.

3. More Free Time

If you finish all your homework at the library, once you get back to the dorm you can feel free to relax and be less stressed about turning in that midnight paper.

4. Habit

Once you start going to the library regularly, it starts to become a habit and habits can be tricky to break. Every time you go to the library and do work you are training your brain, to finish assignments when you go to a certain place versus another. That way when you sit down at a table you can just start right away.

5. Recharge

This may not be true of every library, but most. Most of the time there is a little charging station or outlets which you can use to charge your phone or laptop. This is the perfect way to make sure you have enough juice for the rest of your classes.

6. Bonus

You can tell your mom you went to the library, and she will be thrilled. Just a little extra boost in the best daughter department.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
