Everyone knows the ongoing feud between "liberals" and "conservatives." It’s a never-ending battle of shouts and slurs arguing over who is right and who is wrong.
In reality, neither ‘party’ is right nor wrong. It all boils down to opinions.
Opinions are great because they are based on the original foundations of our beautiful, maybe not so beautiful, country. Everyone seems to have an opinion — on literally everything.
It is OK — and even great — to have an opinion, but it is not OK to shove your opinions down someone’s throat while not even considering their thought process.
I, myself, am a liberal woman in the 21st century. My best friend is a conservative woman in the 21st century.
We are on completely opposite ends of the political spectrum and have yet to have a screaming battle on our political views.
We both like to share our opinions and do so respectfully. Neither of us bashes the other’s party because we have a mutual respect for each other and the party.
Two 17-year-old girls who are dedicated to their causes can sit and have a reasonable, respectful debate while 40-year-old men slander curses on a keyboard.
Personally, I view myself as a respectable liberal. Someone who takes pride and defends their party without being totally intolerant.
I will admit, I do have some flaws, like having a very strong dislike for Mr. Trump; but nonetheless, I can have a conversation without things getting ugly.
Both parties have supporters who are notorious for being very violent and intolerant toward the opposing party.
I don’t believe these people are liberals or conservatives but more so radicals.
If you aren’t adult/mature enough to have a respectful, controlled debate, then you are not mature enough to adopt a political party.
When will the stigma end?
