Keep Calm And Let God

How releasing control and letting God handle things can bring you peace.

Keep Calm And Let God

Have you ever had a moment in your life where you have absolutely no control? Like you don't know how things happened or what the outcome will be with the decisions you made? I am sure everyone, including me, has had these moments. We all share these "I have absolutely no idea what is going on. Why is this happening to me?" thoughts; we wonder why all the bad things are happening to us and wonder why God is letting these struggles happen to us if He truly cares. We have to understand that sometimes things may be out of our control but are in the hands of the Lord; in tough situations that concept may seem extremely impossible leaving you to doubt the existence of the Lord but He planned that circumstance for a reason.

He created you and knows what you can and can't handle, sometimes you just have to let it go and place it into someone who can, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe His resumé

fits the position entirely. I mean He holds 7 billion people's lives and futures in the palm of His hand, He created everything we see and most important. He is alive! He rose from the grave three days after he hung on that wooded cross bearing all the world sins, and He is here with us still. That is incredible! That is huge! If God can rise from the grave then why can't He handle our small problems? All we have to do is give those concerns, fears and even dreams to Him; He continues to tell us this, in Proverbs 16:9 for example, "a man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directs his steps."

The Lord allows things to happen and challenges us so that it may lead us to the path He has created for us; we have to learn to think that when things may be tough and seem bleak that the Lord has created our lives down to the littlest detail meaning He has control of everything we do. Now when I say control, I don't mean it as a dictator but as a just father; He cares for us in every way and only ask for us to follow Him obediently. Every act of obedience, not matter how big or small, brings a smile unto the Lord's face. I wonder sometimes what might that smile will be like, how bright and cheerful it must be; the only comparison is that of a father who smiles at his children with love and happiness.

I know some may think "Oh, she is just preaching to masses, we all know this." This a lesson for everyone including myself, there are things in my life that I just need to give to God and let Him handle the situation. One of the top things for me personally is deciding on what I should major in; this is a difficult decision for me and I realized I should just place my concerns to Him. I know if I continue to follow Him as a sheep does a shepherd like He says in John 10:27, then I will continue to hear "[his] voice" and never have to worry about being snatched out of my father's hand of guidance.

The Lord can create endless possibilities for our lives and in those possibilities God ordained opportunities will reveal themselves, and it is up to us to seize those moments. Let the Lord create these opportunities for us and release your control on life so that you may bring glory and power to his name.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
