To my best friends, my squad, my OG Crew,
I feel so incredibly lucky to have you in my life. Some of my most memorable moments are from the years we grew up together. Through the awkward stages of middle school, to the new things we faced in high school, I am so glad I had you by my side.
Growing up, we practically lived in my media room. Weekend long sleepovers of Just Dance battles and scary movie nights. It came to the point where it was necessary for you guys to have your own keys to my house, going home on Sunday only to come back on Friday and repeat the cycle. As the era of music videos came to arise, we spent hours on end making them. Staying up so late just to finish it and watch it back. We could be so easily preoccupied recording ourselves wearing strange outfits, making funny faces, and doing our very weird dance moves. I am so glad we made those, they are some of the best videos to go back and rewatch. Watching them now, I laugh so hard I am in tears thinking about how our middle school selves thought, "this is definitely a good idea."
I love that no matter what we are doing, we are always having the best time. Something so simple like driving around and listening to our favorite music, (Better off Alone by Alice Deejay), instantly puts us all in a good mood. We can continuously bounce off each other making us all laugh about the dumbest things. I wouldn't change that for the world.
I remember when we were telling each other to not make any replacement best friends when we moved off to college. Now a year has almost gone by and not a thing has changed. How silly were we to think we could ever replace each other? I always look forward to coming home on break and having our usual late night meet up; pulling into a Sonic, ordering a family size tater tots, getting our favorite milkshakes, and laughing until our cheeks hurt. It is in those moments that it feels like no time has passed at all, that's when I know these friendships are here to stay.
I am truly blessed.
Love always,
Reilly
