It’s still so early
in our relationship
that logic tells me, I’m wrong,
but
everything else tells me, I’m right.
you make me feel like,
a Texas sunset,
a white sand beach,
a snow covered mountain,
a quiet lake,
a verdant forest.
All of these places are beautiful
you make me feel beautiful.
but
I’m terrified
to tell you this because
if you don’t feel same,
it will feel like
a Texas tornado,
a beach after a hurricane,
an avalanche,
a swamp, long forgotten,
a forest after a fire.
All of these things
once beautiful,
now destroyed.
