An Open Letter To My Mom

You're everything I could wish for

An Open Letter To My Mom
Audrey Scoggins

Dear Mom,

I can't begin to thank you enough for all you have done.

Thank you for the way you raised me. You gave me all the ideas I needed to start my life on my own. Your influence is what has made me who I am today. Without you I would be completely lost, thank you.

On top of teaching me the way I should go, you let me go. You let me follow my dreams and become my own person. No matter how hard it was (and still is) on both of us. I love being my own person and making my own decisions, but please don't ever mistake that for me not missing you. I always wish I could have you by my side to face this crazy life.

I am so sorry. I'm sorry that I forget to call. I wish I wasn't as busy I was. I wish there was no time difference between us. We don't have enough conversation and I'm sorry. There is nothing I love more than hearing your voice and catching you up on every detail of my life.

Thank you for understanding that I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm totally new to this adult thing, and I couldn't do it without you to help me. From constantly texting you asking how to fill out paperwork to asking you to schedule my appointments, you're always there when you don't have to be. Thank you.

There aren't words that I could use to explain how thankful I am to you. I love you more than you will ever know and more than I could ever show.

Long-story short is that you are completely amazing. You are everything I could wish for at this point in life. You've brought me to where I am and I know you're going where I'm going. Mothers like you are what make lives like mine better.

Thank you. (And love you)
