To My Best Friend,
You may not know this, but I have always looked up to you in every way possible: a role model, a guide, and someone I am aspiring to become.
The way you bring laughter to a room; I can hear your laugh from a mile away. The way smiles seem to grow bigger, conversations seem to get deeper, and the atmosphere seems to glow brighter. It is a joy to have you in anyone’s presence.
I can tell you anything. Secrets seem to be kept and your advice always seems to be coming from your past. Your wisdom has helped me through the worst to come out as well as the best.
You put me first for everything. I can always count on you to be there at my every beckoning phone call and text; whenever I need a ride, someone to bring me some late night Taco Bell, or even when I just need someone to talk to about a boy.
You are my partner in crime. One of us never goes without the other. “We goes together like peas and carrots,” as the Forest Gump quote goes. You are my blast in a glass; I always have the best memories when you are a part of them. The party starts when you walk in the room and people gravitate toward your fun spirit.
You love me unconditionally. You love me for who I am and who I want to become. I can be myself around you and not be judged for how much I am in love with Disney movies, how terrible my voice is when I sing, or how homeless I look going out into public.
I cannot thank you enough for everything you do. You brighten my day, help me to smile when I’m down, and help me become a better person than the one I was yesterday. You have made me the strong, independent person I am today, and I cannot thank God enough for giving me someone like you.
I Love You, Mom.
Love, Your {not so} Little Girl
