To My Ex-Best Friend, I Hope You're Doing Well

We aren't friends anymore but I'm still here for you.

To My Ex-Best Friend, I Hope You're Doing Well
Brooke Holford

We all need at least one good friend, someone we can go to about everything. This is the person you call seconds after running into your ex at the gas station, or you call because you tripped up the stairs in public. We all need a person to go to, sometimes we just chose the wrong person, and realize it once they know too much about our lives. I'm a firm believer that everything does NOT happen for a reason, but sometimes we are better off breaking up and going our separate ways. I have had my fair share of crappy friendships, but genuinely wish the best for each and every one of my ex-friends.

We went our separate ways for whatever reason. They say forgive but never forget, but honestly, I don't remember half the reasons we stopped being friends. It doesn't matter anymore. Its been years, we are out of grade school now and trying to make something of ourselves. It didn't work out for a reason, we have different views on things and different ideas of what we want as a friend.

I want you to know that I will always be there for you, regardless of the last time we talked. If you texted me today with nobody else to go to, I would still answer. We are no longer best friends, friends, acquaintances, we are nothing, but we have the same past just like any other relationship. I will always be available if you need someone to talk to. Your secrets from 10 years ago, and secrets from today will always be safe with me, just don't do me wrong. You get what you give, I expect the same respect in return. I would never hang out your dirty laundry for anyone, and wouldn't expect mine to be hung out either.

I hope you achieve everything you ever dreamed of. I hope you found a new best friend to go to about everything. I hope your family is well, school is well, and I hope you make something of yourself. We aren't friends for a reason of the past, but you should know that I want you to be happy.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
