Mom,
At age 5, I was a little girl who you wanted to show the world. You did everything with me including teaching me how to swim and getting me involved in different activities and clubs. You put me in girl scouts, dance, and soccer, all to try to help me find myself. At night, you would tell me stories at night before I went to bed and you filled my imagination with creativity.
At age 10, I was a child just trying to impress you. You would come to all of my school events and parties, and I always loved telling my friends that you were my mom. You encouraged me to try new things, such as playing the flute. Even though I was awful at first you told me I was getting better and to never give up. This showed me the meaning of passion.
At age 15, I was a teenager, and we all know what that means. I always caused you trouble and was always on your last nerve. I would constantly tell you to get out of my room or tell you that I wasn't a child anymore, and you never fought me. You knew I was growing up because it happens to everyone. Even though I was annoying, you still were always there to help me when I needed help.
At age 18, I am a student who works hard in college just like you taught me to. Today I strive to be as smart and loving as you. You have taught me so much and you are the reason why I am who I am. You are the reason why I care for others and why I never back down from a challenge. I love you more than you will ever know, and I hope that one day my children will feel the same way for me as I do for you. Thank you for being the best mom I could ever ask for. I love you. And to all other moms, I'm sure your child would say the same for you, because we are so lucky to have all of you in our lives.
