To the U.S Military.

It takes real courage to leave your family behind and protect our nation from the forces of evil that seek to destroy us. The strength of such individuals is truly remarkable, and shows a demonstration of a person’s pure and genuine character. These amazing people are the soldiers, marines, Air Force pilots, and members of the National Guard which all comprise of the U.S. military. The men and women who face danger head on and are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect their comrades as well as the innocent. To say that most of us here in this country have it easy when compared with the lives that the military lead would be an understatement. The majority of us are not dodging bullets, crawling through thick and uneven terrain, or carrying heavy equipment and weaponry while battling the scorching heat. It is because we do not have to deal with such hardships that sometimes it is very easy to forget to be thankful for what the military provides us as a society. I believe that it is important to take the time to acknowledge how grateful we are to live in a country where a powerful and formidable army will chase away the wicked and keep them from invading our soil.

First off I would like to start off by commending the efforts of everyone from all militaristic branches. It is through your blood, sweat, tears, and grit that enables justice to be delivered and order to be maintained. Had you not been here to step in and rise to the occasion when our country needs you the most, then our world but be a much more dangerous and perilous place to live in. I would also like to add that I find your resilience inspiring and I’m sure that many more people would agree. After all, during a period of crisis, people need to be reminded that they can get through anything that is hurled their way as well as find hope and motivation through a noble hero who puts the needs of others before his or her own. For those of you in the American military who have children, just know that you have given them a role model that is more worthy of admiration than the fictitious saviors and warriors from the movies. You will be able to educate them on what real strength is and what it takes to raise a family based on the traits that you exude and the experiences that you have made.

Lastly I would like to say that each and every one of you is a fighter, the kind of person that I have the most respect for and would like to get to know better. Since I myself have proven people wrong and beat the odds countless times in my life, I have always tried to befriend people who don’t paint themselves as helpless victims and keep trucking along no matter what curve ball life may toss at them. Although I will admit that all of you will easily top my life story, for you definitely have more guts than I probably will ever have just for putting up a great fight against a common enemy that we all want to vanquish. Keep up the excellent work at making sure that we are safe and secure, never give up and always stand up for what is right even if you are the only ones. It is the people like you that give me hope for the future and for what might be in store for the later generations. It is the people like you that help me cling on to the faith of humanity and what we are capable of being.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

11 Ways To Live The Best Life You Can

Life is full of twists and turns, but you have to keep going.

Life is all about twist and turns, sideways and which ways. Nothing is permanent, so we should take risks, and chase our dreams. We are taught at a young age many lessons that will follow us into adulthood. What we aren't taught is how to feel, and how we handle those emotions. We just have to figure them out ourselves, and that's not fun. In my 21 years of living, I have come to know that way too many people can't handle emotions, or the fact that not everyone is dead inside like them. When you're like me, and you have zero control over your emotions, it's hard to feel comfortable around people who aren't so in touch with themselves. As much as I would like to feel nothing at times, I've accepted who I am and the fact that I can cry over practically nothing. So, there are some things in life that you just have to do.
