Hi.
I just wanted to ask you a simple question. Since when did a uniform change me from being a human being? I can understand that maybe something did not come out exactly how you wanted. Or maybe it wasn't good.
Ninety-eight percent of these problems weren't caused by me. I will gladly help you and fix it. But there is no need for you to belittle me at my work place. Deep underneath this uniform is still a human being.
I'm Gabe. I have a life outside of my job. When I come into work, I try my best to be the best at what I do. Sometimes, it is not going to be good enough. However, if I cannot supply what you need, I will provide someone to you who can.
The yelling, cursing and the way you have presented yourself was absolutely unnecessary. Today, you have made someone feel less of a human being that they should feel like. All over a $8.99 meal. The price of making someone feel low. The way it was handled could be better on your part. Just saying, "Hey, this isn't what I ordered. Can you fix it?" See how I didn't throw things and no ones feelings or confidence was destroyed?
Finally, there was children watching. These kids were seeing how to treat a human who works in the service industry. Maybe they will grow up and feel like that is how they are suppose to act. And who knows? Maybe you'll have a son or daughter and that child who watched treats your kids like that. When they come home crying and feeling so low, maybe you will finally understand what you did to people like me. And trust me, between you and me, I would never wish this on anyone.
So please remember, whether you are going to a fast-food restaurant, a store, or anywhere where a service is required from someone else, remember you are paying for that service. You are not paying to treat them like they are beneathe you because they are not.
Sincerely,
The Server
