Dear Snowflake Generation

A letter to those who makeup the snowflake generation and how to lose that title.

To the Snowflake Generation,

I know, that's an "offensive term" but you see, that's how we got this label, by finding everything so offensive. No longer are we able to take tension, deal with adversity, or cope with the fact that others disagree with our "complete acceptance". We are no longer able to accept that we must work in order to achieve things, and sometimes we feel that we are entitled. We are the generation demanding free college, free healthcare, free abortion, and freedom to identify as one wishes, yet we aren't willing to truly fight for it. We've become the generation of entitlement and allowed ourselves to believe the world owes us everything, simply because we are alive. We claim we value uniqueness and shout our beliefs that everyone matters, and we should embrace everyone, but order our government free abortion on demand. We've earned the title of snowflakes, and if we want to get rid of it, we must make some changes.

We need to stop demanding that the world sees our uniqueness and give us handouts, but rather make a name for ourselves by working hard and earning a name for ourselves. The world owes us nothing. Everything we are owed is what we worked for and achieved for ourselves. We need to stop demanding handouts and free college and start picking majors that will allow us to provide for ourselves and pay back our loans. We need to stop demanding the limited government to fix our problems and learn to problem solve without the use of safe spaces, or a place to hide away. It's time we learned to talk things out like adults, rather than needing limited speech to feel safe.

It's time to stop marching for woman's rights until we are ready to march for the rights of all woman, born and unborn. We need to stop seeing those things which we disagree with as oppression. We need to realize our proclaimed uniqueness doesn't begin at life, but rather in the womb, and we need to protect the right to live. More of us need to join the thousands already marching at the March for Life, and fight against the oppression of abortion, in order to demand equal rights for all women.

It's not a hopeless case for us, we can prove this label false. In order to do this, however, we must stop feeling entitled to, and oppressed and offended by everything. We have to start taking a meaningful stand on issues. It's time to stop marching and protesting, and start working for what we believe in. It's time to stop being snowflakes, and start being the generation which changed the world.

We can do it, It'll just take effort!

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
