A Letter To The Person Who Changed My Life

Dear You,

It's pure chance that I met you and complete fate that you're mine. You're my best friend, my partner in crime, my other half, and you complete me. You make me want to be my best self. You've made me embrace my quirkiness and you've shown me that being weird is OK. You have shown me what it is like to be loved unconditionally. I know I tell you how important you are to me all the time, but I hope that you truly know. You have reminded me what it is like to be happy again and that is something I will never be able to thank you for, but I promise that I'm going to spend the rest of time trying to.

As you know, I have suffered with a lot of things over the past year and a half. I don't know how you did it, but you managed to make all of the pain disappear. You came into my life during a time when I didn't see a future for myself. I never saw myself graduating from college. I didn't even see myself a year from now. All of that changed when you came into my life. I can actually picture myself in the future now. I can see a future for myself. You were so patient with me through everything. You never doubted me or anything I said. You put all of your faith in me and trusted me 100 percent. I can't even begin to tell you how good that made me feel.

I wake up each morning and you're the first thing on my mind. I can usually just look over to my laptop and you're right there, sleeping, because we fell asleep on FaceTime again. I never want to wake you up because you always look so peaceful, so I usually mute myself if I have to do something so I don't. I get so impatient when you're sleeping though, because I want nothing more than for you to wake up so I can talk to you.

Knowing that you're 341 miles away from me kills me, but we won't have to deal with that much longer. I'm gonna be 30 minutes away from you this summer and then we will be at the same school next year. Thank you so much for all of the amazing memories that we have so far, I can't wait to make new ones with you. I can't wait to experience college with you; to experience life with you. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world.

Thank you for being you and thank you for loving me.

Forever and always,

Caiti
