To the one who loved me right,
In our lifetime, I believe we are meant to have many different loves. We are meant to have a mediocre love, a bad love, and a rare and beautiful love. We are meant to have all these different kinds of love so we can appreciate it when we find the one who loves us right.
The thing about love is, it just hits you out of nowhere. It’s just like BAM! Here I am! Then all of a sudden, you start to wonder where this person has been all your life. I was just sitting in class and then all of a sudden, the boy in front of me made my smile a little bigger, my laugh a little louder, and my heart beat a little harder. I wasn’t looking for love when you found me, but thank God you found me.
I know that loving me is not easy. I have never made it easy on you to do so and chances are, I probably never will. You seem to want to stick around anyway, and I can’t thank you enough for doing so.
Patience is something I do not have. I don’t like waiting for the microwave to count down the last thirty seconds for the pizza rolls to be done, and I get flustered when I can’t find an answer quick enough.
Patience however, is something you do have. You are patient when I am upset, confused, and frustrated. You listen when I take forever to tell a story, nodding along all the way, letting me tell you every detail, even the side tracked ones that don’t truly relate.
You love me on my bad days and my good days. Your love is always unconditional, giving and nurturing. I never have to ask if you love me, because you show it in all the little ways that I never thank you enough for.
You never care when I go on a rant that usually ends up with me talking nonsense for an hour. You let me babble on from my frustration about a test, to reasons why you should not have ate that last piece of pizza without at least telling me first. Of course neither of us know how I got from point A to point B, but you try your hardest to follow along anyways.
You let me sleep in the middle of the bed and steal all the covers, with no complaints. You don’t mind that I’m a bed hog and that I insist on keeping one foot under the covers and one foot outside of the covers.
You encourage me to work harder and chase big dreams, even if that means spending a month away from you across the country. You push me to do better and be better, embracing my dreams as your own.
Your love is genuine, beautiful, and rare.
Sincerely,
One lucky girl
