Being a twenty-something-year-old Christian in today's world can be difficult. We are faced with so many challenges and tests that make us question our faith. Often we get discouraged by an outcome or we feel like we do not matter, or are worthless. This can become even more difficult throughout the college years especially if you attend a secular school and cannot constantly be involved with your faith. Well, this is for the ones who feel beaten down, the ones who feel like they don’t belong and the ones who feel lost.

Always remember you do matter to God! He loves you dearly and created you in His perfect image.

Psalm 139: 13-15 said:

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.”

Life may bring you down and you may feel like things will never look better for you, but just remember, God has a plan for you and He will always be in your corner, even through the toughest battles.

1 Peter 5:10 said:

“...and after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

When you feel alone and think you have no one to turn to, God is always there. He is watching over you and is always there in your prayers.

Isaiah 43:1-5 said:

“Do not be afraid. I will save you. I have called you by name—you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the Lord, your God...because you are precious to me and because I love you and give you honor, do not be afraid—I am with you!”

Keep your head up and love yourself. You will make it through this time in your life and these trials and tribulations will pass! If you remain strong and steadfast in your faith, for God will have your back and get you through anything!

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
