Dear Me,

You and I go way back, and no one else can or will understand you the way I do. You’ve been with me from the start, sometimes crying with me in the shower, sometimes dancing with me in the mirror. But it’s always been us, you and me, and that is one thing that won’t change until the day I die.

You are so incredibly strong. For the past year, life has been hitting you with curveball after curveball, blindsiding you the moment you began to feel even an ounce of true happiness, and for that, I am so sorry. No one deserves to go through that, whether it be accepting and dealing with heartbreak or desperately struggling to find and love yourself. I know, life isn’t fair, and the worst things can happen to some of the greatest people. It’s frustrating, it hurts, and it feels so completely wrong. But you survived. You always have and you always will.

You have to promise me one thing, though. Never give up, no matter how hard life gets, no matter how much you get hurt, no matter how hopeless you feel. Please don’t give up, for me. One day, everything is going to make sense. All the heartbreak, hurting, and frustration is going to lead up to something great, and you will understand why you went through everything you did. You have to remember that everything happens for a reason.

The future is such a huge unknown; there is so much uncertainty. Everything can change within a matter of minutes. You of all people should know this. You are the only constant you have, don’t ever lose that.

You are meant to be in the place you are right now. I know, I know. This isn’t how you planned everything to be. You were supposed to be happier; things weren’t supposed to be this way. But that’s life. Breathe, be patient, hope for the best, and trust yourself. Let go of everything, all inhibitions and expectations. Understand that life never has and never will go according to plan. Accept reality for what it is, you’ll find peace that way.

You are such a strong believer in love, and because of that, you get hurt so much more than you need to. You always see the good in people, no matter how many times they destroy you. I am proud of you, for being such a kind and caring person, giving people that you love your everything without thinking twice. You’ve gotten your heart broken more times than you deserve, by people who you thought actually cared about you. Sometimes, you have to realize that most of the time, things have nothing to do with you and everything to do with the other person. They may not be ready to love or they may have no idea what they want out of life. Don’t think it’s your fault, because all you did is love unconditionally. When you get hurt, try to understand what the other person is going through. Maybe it was the right person, just at the wrong time. I never ever want you to lose hope in your happy ending. You deserve to be loved. Forgive others for hurting you, hold your head high, and keep moving forward. Not everything is always how it appear. Give it time, and whatever is meant to be, will be.

I know you’re in a great deal of pain right now, I can feel it. You’ve been broken for a while, and that’s okay. It’s okay to not be okay. There is so much beauty in your pain. You are resilient, brave, and so incredibly bold. You are trying to navigate life the best that you can, so please don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re still figuring yourself out, you need to give yourself credit for that.

Create the life that you want for yourself. Engage in endeavors that you can be proud of. Make the most of your life, sweetie, because you’re only given one life to live. It is a privilege, don’t abuse that. Follow your dreams and surround yourself with people that support you and everything you do, people who encourage and inspire you.

You deserve the world my dear. You have been through so much and have never let it bring you down. Life has tried over and over again to break you, but you refuse to be shot down. Be grateful for your past, you wouldn’t be the woman you are today without it. You love blindly and care for others more than you care about yourself. You are an incredible human being who has so much to give to the world. Keep fighting for yourself and your happiness, and I promise you, with every ounce of my being, you’re going to find it.

Love you for eternity,

Me

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
